Hycamite
Sustainable hydrogen without emissions
Hycamite TCD Technologies produces clean hydrogen and solid pure carbon by splitting methane, the main component of natural and biogas. Furthermore, the other light hydrocarbons from, for example, side streams of the petrochemical industry can be used as feedstock. Scalable technology enables sustainable hydrogen production without any greenhouse-gas emissions borne from the process.
TILT
Fighting cancer with immunotherapy
TILT Biotherapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing cancer immunotherapies based on its proprietary oncolytic viruses. The company’s patented TILT® technology is in clinical development for treatment of solid tumors. TILT has ongoing collaborations with pharmaceutical industry partners Merck & Co (MSD) and Merck KGaA. It has funding from Lifeline Ventures, Finnish Industries Investment (TESI), Stephen Industries, angel investors, Business Finland, and the European Innovation Council (EIC).
Sooma
Treating neurological and psychiatric disorders
Sooma is a medical device company that develops non-invasive brain stimulation devices for treating neurological and psychiatric disorders. Founded in Helsinki in 2013, Sooma has since then collaborated closely with renowned psychiatry and neurophysiology experts to develop effective treatment solutions for various conditions, treating over 15 000 patients in 30 countries.
Fiberwood
Putting forestry by-products and natural fibers to a good use
Fiberwood is a materials technology start-up, developing fossil-free insulation and protection materials from forestry by-products and other natural fibers for the construction and packaging industries. The company's breathable, recyclable, and compostable insulation and protection products are environmentally friendly alternatives to rock and glass wool, plastic-based insulation, and packaging padding. The mission of Fiberwood is to accelerate wood-based and organic construction and packaging, becoming a pioneer of eco-friendly material solutions internationally.
Stemsight
Vision for a world with less corneal blindness
StemSight develops curative treatments for corneal blindness using induced pluripotent stem cells. StemSight’s first product is aimed at a severe rare disease called limbal stem cell deficiency, which is often caused by burns or chemical injuries and cannot currently be cured with other means. In the future, StemSight aims to produce also other corneal cell types from stem cells, which could replace the need for corneal donor tissue.
